A.B.A.
PROVINCIALS
The Men's side of the 2008 A.B.A. Provincials was a repeat from last year, as both teams once again were crowned champs.
On the Men's A side, the Calgary Blazers claimed the gold with a win over the Calgary Chiefs, while the Lethbridge Phantoms won the Men's B side by edging out the Edmonton Ice in the final. On the Women's side, the Edmonton Wasabi claimed gold by knocking of Team Lethbridge in the final. For the full provincial story and all the scores, click on the "Provincials" tile. 2 TEAMS TO NATIONALS
THANKS TO THORSBY
Alberta Broomball will be sending 2 teams to the C.B.F. Nationals, scheduled for early April in Balinville, Quebec. The Calgary Blazers are going as Alberta Champs, while the Calgary Chiefs are filling in for a Saskatchewan team that dropped out. Good luck to both teams in their quest for gold!
The Alberta Broomball Association would like to extend a special thank you to Laurie Gellert and the Village of Thorsby for being gracious hosts and allowing us to take over the rec centre for the 3 day event. Their staff was tremendous all weekend long, and our players were all thankful of the treatment broomball received. This is the second time in 3 years Provincials have been held in Thorsby.
